New software for standardised testing processes at InnoTrans 2026

Qlar (formerly Schenck Process) will be presenting its new Qlar Test Bench software at InnoTrans 2026 in Berlin (Hall Railway Infrastructure 23, Stand 345). The operating software supports railway workshops and infrastructure operators in the preparation, execution and follow-up of rail vehicle inspections – from master data management and guided test procedures through to the creation and archiving of test reports.

The maintenance and safe construction of new rail vehicles are under increasing pressure, as processes need to be faster, more reproducible and better documented. At the same time, demands for the secure processing and integration of data are growing. As a modern platform for test bench processes, the Qlar Test Bench Software guides users through predefined test steps using a tried-and-tested workflow. During testing, key functions such as the real-time display of essential measurement data and an overview of the system status are available at all times. For documentation purposes, the software generates test reports in accordance with DIN 25043 based on predefined templates: test results are archived on the server and can be viewed and edited retrospectively with the appropriate authorisation.

A modern security concept includes role-based user management, an optional connection to a directory service, and encrypted communication between the client and the backend. In this way, Qlar addresses the growing demands on software security and resilience, as required by the Cyber Resilience Act.

To complement the new software, Qlar is showcasing its test bench portfolio at InnoTrans: The Qlar Bogie Test Bench enables bogie testing, including the measurement of wheel and wheelset loads, load distribution and geometric parameters. The Qlar Corner Load Test Bench can be used for corner load measurement on car bodies, and the Qlar Wheel Load Test Bench for measuring wheel forces.

Live at the stand: miniature setup and early detection system

In addition to the test benches, the company is showcasing its Wayside Train Monitoring system. It helps operators and infrastructure managers to detect irregularities in rolling stock and trains at an early stage. The aim is to enable proactive maintenance in order to increase availability and reduce potential damage to rolling stock and infrastructure. Also on display at the stand is the Qlar SandPiper: a static rail sanding solutions for filling rail vehicles with sand via a refueling station.

The exhibition presence is rounded off by the Dynamic Train Scale, which enables industrial customers with rail connections and rail operators to receive or dispatch materials by rail and to efficiently document and support wagon movements. At the stand, Qlar will also be showcasing planned applications in miniature form, such as a model of a vehicle workshop and a shunting yard, and will show use cases to explain how software, test bench systems, monitoring and weighing technology work together.
